Your produce supplier affects food cost, consistency and how much time your team spends fixing orders. Here is what Manila kitchens should check before switching or adding a supplier.

1. Consistent quality, every delivery

Ask for samples of the items you use most, such as romaine, cherry tomatoes and herbs, and check them again on the third and fourth delivery, not just the first.

2. Clear units and fixed prices

Every line should say how it is bought and sold: per kilo, per piece, per pack or per box, and what a pack holds. Fixed prices for a set period make food costing possible.

3. Range in one place

A supplier that covers fresh produce, meat, seafood, dairy and imported pantry goods means fewer deliveries to receive and fewer invoices to check.

4. Delivery you can plan around

Agree on cutoff times, delivery windows and what happens when an item is short. A good supplier tells you before the truck leaves, not after.

5. Traceable imports

For imported products, ask who the producer is. Direct importers can usually tell you the origin and keep stock more consistent.

Curated Foods is a Manila direct importer and distributor supplying restaurants, cafés and hotels. See our wholesale supply or ask for our price list.
